Need help - food ideas for daughters first birthday! HELP!?

My daughters first birthday is a PINK PRINCESS PARTY!

Everything is going to be pink, guests are wearing pink, decorations are pink and even pink champagne!

Thing to note is that there wont be any other children there, its an adult party really. Shes been in hospital and we havent had chance to make friends her age. Now shes out of hospital and were having all the family down! We want it to be extra special.

Im doing muffins with pink icing and flowers, pink drinks, hopefully pink jelly and pink ice creeam.

Can people give me some more fun, and original ideas, not just about food.

I could also do with a cookie recipe that is tried and tested, that could be topped with pink icing?

PLEASE HELP ME GUYS!

i dont know where you live (country) but if its somewhere that sells them, you might wanna get some pink wafers (MMMMMM i love them)

of course - (pink): balloons, streamers, crown, tiara, dress, marshmallows, invites, ribbons, wrapping.... you could even try and get hold of some pink tinted cellophane and stick this to the windows for a pink glow in the room!

make her over with pink hair ribbons and pink eyeshadow, pink blusher, pink hair extensions (???) and maybe you could even look out for pink mascara!!!!

just go to a big department store/wallmart/supermarket and wander round, considering everything pink that catches your eye

pink fireworks....??? i dont know if you can get them but its worth a look that would bring a fantastic end to the party if you havent got shy pets to worry about

good luck, make it the best party ever, treat her literally like a princess!

Reply:Use some boxes and cover them with pink wrapping paper or other pink-ish colors and place them upside down and put the food on top of them for contrast. Get some really cheap pink purses and a plastic bowl. Clean out the bowl and put it into the purse and place your chips into it or make it a princess crown and place a bowl on the top of it and put the cookies or pink m%26amp;m%26#039;s in it.

Make a flower pot cake (dirt cake) with pink candy flowers coming out of it.

serve pink lemonade too! spike it with some vodka for the adults!
Reply:Ok with cupcakes put in 5 to 10 drops of RED food coloring so your cupcakes have pink color to them! Definetly get that girl a crown and a nnew pretty pink dress to wear! Decorate the party room like a castle and let her sit at the front on a thron! make it special and do not rush it it is her day let her enjoy it!
Reply:you could also do a white chocolate fondue with strawberrys (maybe add a little non flavoured pink food colouring to the chocolate), pink fairycakes, pink candles, pink banners will keep thinking for you!! :) Good to hear your daughter is out of hospital and on the mend.
Reply:My daughter has 3 kids (oldest is 4), so we%26#039;ve been doing alot of toddler parties lately:) ... She%26#039;s been getting %26quot;cupcake cakes%26quot; at Krogers. The cupcakes are all pushed together, and frosted together as one cake. You can get whatever colors/theme you want, and it%26#039;s so much easier to serve - and for toddlers to eat. (We%26#039;ve had a fire engine, a gorilla with a pink bow %26amp; lipstick, a zebra, etc) ..... The following pie is wonderful too, because you can make it ahead:

PINK LEMONADE PIE

1 large container Cool Whip

1 (6 oz) frozen pink lemonade concentrate, thawed

1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk

1 9%26quot; graham cracker crust (storebought is fine)

Mix everything together well and pour into pie crust. Top with some extra Cool Whip. (Maybe some pink sprinkles, too) ... Chill at least 4 hrs. before serving...

When I think of pink and little girls, I think of the Disney Princesses:) ... You could have some movies on ... your daughter would like that, and maybe some of the women would too:) (put a baseball game on in another room:) .... It%26#039;s hard to plan activities for adults that a toddler wlill like:) ... My 2-yr-old granddaughter is VERY into %26quot;dressing up%26quot; though, and the Disney princesses....she loves purses, play shoes %26amp; clothes, boas, and tiaras:).... Maybe do a %26quot;diva%26quot; theme??
Reply:For my daughter%26#039;s 1st party (which is this month) I am ordering 300 hundred chicken nuggets (for the children) and 190 pieces of chicken from Popeyes and I am going to Sams club to buy platters and other little things I can find, I brought little Gerber snacks for the kids and other snacks for the older kids, and I am making my own side dishes...so consider doing something like that...less work on yourself. Another thing you can do is a puppet show, you can have a puppet designing table have all the childrens to design their own and then put on a puppet show, I%26#039;m doing that plus cookie designing, face painting, just search the web...I%26#039;m sure you%26#039;ll find something...Good luck!!!!
Reply:Do the cheese and wine buffet type! slices of smoked cheese, pink orange skin or similar pinkish coloured cheese liek wensleydale with cranberries arranged on a platter with pink/rede grapes and simple crackers.

Salmon mousse on crudites. Sticks of celery, slices of pomegranate- yes they go together.

Small pink trifles in straight glasses. Cherry/ strawberry slice in bottom , bit of cherry or strawberry jelly, blankmange as custard layer and cream with 100 n !000 on top!

Finally do pink little fairy cakes with simple pink food colouring in icing sugar and a pink sweet as a topper!

Have fun
