I%26#039;m 19 and a college freshman. She%26#039;s turning 17 in a week and a junior in HS.
We went to HS together and were not that close but we were friends and knew each other.
Got a little closer over the past couple of weeks and now we%26#039;re going out.
Great girl. Fuuny, pretty all that good stuff.
We been going out a month as of next week and I have no idea what to get her for a gift for her bday.
I don%26#039;t want to spend too much and make it seem like things are moving too fast. But I don%26#039;t want to get a cheap gift and well...look cheap.
It%26#039;s at the beginning stages of the relationship where I don%26#039;t know if this is going to be long term or just like a little spring romance. I don%26#039;t want want to spend big and breakup like a month later because that is a waste of money.
I was beginning to think dinner, a movie and maybe some flowers. But wouldn%26#039;t she expect an actual gift that she can wear or use or something like that? or is that enough?
Birthday gift for a new girlfriend?
a box of swiss chocolate birthday card and red rosses with kiss i think its great for gals
Reply:I am also a first-year college student and this is what you get her. Take her to dinner of course, that%26#039;s just nice and kind of expected.
What I did for my girlfriend was I created a pair of converse at converse.com and wrote her name down the back of them. You can do a style that will fit her perfectly and every time she puts on her shoes she%26#039;ll think of you. fool-proof right?
*It%26#039;s also not terribly expensive, i think it was about 65 bucks.
Reply:Maybe send some flowers to her workplace or her house the day of her birthday with a card to say happy birthday, and maybe something romantic.
Then, do dinner OR a movie (I think dinner), and have a gift for her. Perhaps a CD and a cute little bracelet or something.
JBud...CUTE! LOL I had to laugh though when you said %26quot;foolproof, right?%26quot;...well, unless you guys break up and then she has a pair of shoes that always remind her of you. Anyway...cute idea.
Reply:get her a card, adn someting yo uknwo she enjoys it coudl be small hangout with he rnad pick up on what she talks about she IS your girlfriend, maybe a little box youcan decorate and inside a small gift. its thoughtful adn fun
Reply:Well, being a girl, i suggest u buy her a perfume and only a red flower..i think that will please a girl and it%26#039;s not expensive as well..
Reply:give her something not expensine but funny... like underwear. you don%26#039;t have to be so serious about it....just enjoy

Reply:*Get a bunch on balloons and blow them up. Then put little bitty notes inside each of them that say ... I love you because, or you are special to me because (just make it unique) Then make her pop all the balloons and read the notes out loud!
*Make a scavanger hunt. Put notes on things that have clues to the next place. Like I put %26quot;I am always sitting here when we watch moves%26quot; so he knew to go to the couch. Then the next clue would be on the couch. and so on and so on.
*You could also get a picture of the both of you, put it in a frame and decorate the frame your self.
*Get a jar and fill it up with little pieces of paper that have a memory on them. Like one of them could be %26quot;the time we went bike riding, and I fell off and scaped my knee%26quot; (something like that).
*Buy some window chalk and write on her car windows HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HONK IT%26#039;S MY BIRTHDAY!!
