I think you should consider sending a note saying that you know that this might be a difficult day for your friend, but that you hope she will be comforted by the wonderful memories of her daughter and the fact that she has friends who care and remember her loss.

Sometimes, it takes people a long period of time to be able to talk about a very close loss. Whilst you are there, what about suggesting you meet up for coffee and have an hour shopping together ?

My mother is throwing my grandma a party and is stumped for a souvenir idea. She likes the color yellow and flowers, which is how i'm decorating the cake. Any ideas?

you can get colored tulle (light netting) in the fabric department its not expensive and then cut it in squares and make little saches filled with potpurri..tie off with some yellow fabric ribbon (also fairly inexpensive at craft/fabric stores) Maybe attach a photo or little thank you tag to each sache. Its not a very expensive souvenir but smells great and could be used in drawers or wheverver to make things smell nice.

This stuff is made of fabric that you can run through your computer and is machine washable. Don't confuse it with photo canvas! Print your pics onto that and then applique them onto small, cloth gift bags filled with whatever you like. Fabric gift bags are really easy to make.
Transfer fabric costs about $6.00 for 6 sheets. Make sure you buy the washable FABRIC transfers! This is a cool product and can be used to make quilts with, too. You can't wash them with soap, though. Have to use fabric softener!

Personally I am always thinking about the people I love, so sometimes I see something in March that I know would be perfect for that Dec. birthday and I just get it and save it. If you are still high school or college age - help around the house, do a chore for her that you know needs to be done. Especially ones she dreads doing or that dad never gets around to. Gutters need to be cleaned, garden weeded etc. With us mom's it isn't always about the gift itself, more the thought that went into the gift. If you are comfortable talking to any of her friends, or if she has a sister, ask them if she has mentioned anything in particular. My mom has always appreciated more the times I've gotten plants %26amp; spent time planting them %26amp; working in her flower beds -- time with your mom ( if you live close) means more than anything. If you don't live close, plan a special trip to see her - or meet somewhere for lunch %26amp; shopping, museum, etc.. Good luck!

so to answer your question, i think you should be the deciding factor of what design you get, but i do think that the placement should be rethought. i thought about a tattoo on my hip bone before, but i know that i want children in my future, so i decided on not getting it in that location. talking to your tattoo artist will be a great way for them to incorporate you likes into a unique design just for you!

For example the tattoo I'm getting is the logo from the "American Idiot" CD by Green Day, with the lyrics of my favorite song tattooed next to it, I choose this because Green Day is my favorite band and their American Idiot album is really what introduced me to them, their music speaks to me and to me this is a big symbol of who I am. Now you have to think of something that is really important to you in your life, I know it's really really hard, but that's what you have to think of. And that one symbol will be the perfect tattoo to get!

If you were older I'd recommend something she's interested in and jewelry- but at 14 flowers and a music giftcard is a very generous gift and you are very thoughtful. My mom is turning 41. I want to so something special for her. The only 2 things that is making it complicated is that 1. i am on a budget 2. my dad is on a wheelchair, so it is hard to take her somewhere because i want all three of us be together. Obviously diner and flowers no question, but i want something more. Any sujestions?

Surprise her with a spotless car that you cleaned. I know that it sounds cliche but it is the thought that counts. By the time your 41 you can buy stuff for yourself but you can't buy happy memories with your children. That reminds me.....I better get off the computer and spend some time with my kids!!

She is 28 years old and a beautiful girl. She works in a corporate environment in the fashion industry. She isnt a snob but is pretty classy and well dressed. Obviously knows her way around being fashionable. I so far have bought a diamond necklace and a bracelet from Tiffanys in the jewelery department of things. I know my way around that just fine. She had mentioned diamond earrings, but when I showed her some ideas she thought I was crazy for spending so much. AT this point in time I am not doing good financially for the moment and need some relief on my wallet. So I just wanted some other ideas of what I can get her. Then, he found some vintage pin-up art postcards and wrote lovely notes on each. The fact that he knew that I would love this and picked each out just amazed me. I think that the best gift any guy can give a woman is something that took a little thought %26amp; effort.

I have a dress for a friend's birthday party tonight but ....?
In fact I have two. One is a 50's style kitsch red and white dress. (White with red roses), and it's all flowy and full skirted. I have some vintage 50's shoes I can wear with this one, which looks quite nice. BUT THEN, there is the other dress, which is shorter (above knees) and is a babydoll dress with silk and it's a pinkish with retro styled turquoise and brown outlinings of flowers (nicer than it sounds...) I am having a dilemma choosing which, but MORE importantly, am fussing over my makeup for either of these dresses.
ANY help would be appreciated! :D
