What can I get for my Grandma's 80th birthday?

Can't be scented/flowers cos of her allergies, can't be a necklace cos my mums getting her that, can't be to take her anywhere cos she can still walk but needs a stick so would be too much- please help!

What can I get for my Grandma's 80th birthday?
a basket full of yummies, in addition to some useful things, maybe postage stamps and stationary if she still writes, a unique pen....little gift baskets are so much fun for the elderly. my 82-yr. old mother-in-law loves things that we no longer think about, colored pencils, 'fridge magnets, cheese and cracker packets, different kinds of jellies and spreads. i know this may sound a little frivilous...but your grandmother probably has everything she'll ever need or want, and taking the time to pick out a little of this and that and pulling it together for her will show her that you put some thought into what she likes. craft items are wonderful as well, if she's into that. an 80 yr. old wants something they can use, not pack away in a closet. commemorative things are nice, but not useful, and life is short!
Reply:Get everyone in the family to write a story about a special memory, funny story or how much your grandmother has meant to them and have all of the stories typed up and put into a nice folder or made into a little book for her.You will need to get everyone involved, aunts, uncles, cousins, sister, grandchildren ect., you will need some time to get this together so get started!
Reply:My family got my great grandma that turned 85 a money tree. Just get a branch decorate it with money tied on with colorful string. Put it in a nice flower pot maybe with her favorite candy or even coins at the bottom. She always needs money.
Reply:buy her a ticket to go somewhere special and close to home she can get to in a day so you and her could spend time together because that would be priceless
Reply:When my Nanna turned 80 we bought her a record player - it meant she could re-live all the old memories of when my grandad was still alive - the songs they used to listen to together and things, only she could no longer play. It really made her day. Choose something that enables her to re-live the fondest memories of when she was younger, more mobile etc, and help to make her day really special. Don't go for something obvious - really let her know you put thought into it and how much you love her.
Reply:A walker with "spinnas" and an airhorn?
Reply:A certificate stating you already have paid for her funerary services.
Reply:Why don't you make a video of all the special things she likes,%26amp;

all of the people she likes, %26amp; all of the places she'd liked to have

visited.Or just video your Family %26amp; everyone say a special

heat-felt message to her.You could always make a Homemade

Card,signed with everyon'es goodwishes.
Reply:take her to Blackpool and go on the "big one"
Reply:A good single malt.

Or whatever her favourite tipple is?
Reply:give her money
Reply:you could choose an important date from her 80 years alive and get her a replica newspaper, so she can remember it and see what happened in the news that day.

Reply:get a lovley photo of all her family, frame it. %26amp; im sure she will be so chuffed.
Reply:how about a plot. she's old and will be dying soon.
Reply:how about some memories, any family videos or clips, photos etc, take em to to photo outlet and have them put to DVD, I'm sure she would like to sit and watch the tv screen throwing up the long ago time to rekindle a past time.

and some nice warm slippers, or a drop of the hard stuff
Reply:Take no notice of that idiot, take her out somewhere nice.Somewhere she likes.
Reply:At that age people really like cards. Be sure to pick a special one that captures your feelings and write a personal note inside. You could get her a basket full of little items. Postage stamps, magnifiying glass, book of poems or inspirational thoughts, snack food, hand lotion. powder etc. She'll be happy to be with her loved ones.
Reply:A nice night gown or robe would be nice for that age. With some slippers.
Reply:happy birthday to your gran Hun

what about a foot spa that would relax her feet in summer and winter if she has one of them what about a Nice picture of you and your family in a frame
