I got her favourite tv show on dvd and some flowers. Is a card necessary? She'll be 18 and my parents told me that I'm stupid if I don't get a card....but what could I possibly write inside? We've only been going out for a month (even though we've been friends for a long time). I'm not going to write "Love Steve".

Definately get her a card.
As for what to write in it.....maybe something along the lines of the fact the best romance comes from a deep friendship, and that you love her.
